ABOUT BOKKEMANSKLOOF ESTATE

Tucked up against the sunny north-facing slopes of the Hout Bay valley, this quiet, secure, well-established residential estate is ideal for nature lovers and families. Enjoy a unique eco-friendly lifestyle in a magnificent mountain setting close to all Hout Bay’s amenities.

Backing onto the Vlakkenberg mountain that separates Hout Bay from Constantia, the Estate has breathtaking views over the valley and across Judas Peak and the pristine Oranjekloof Reserve, both of which form part of the Table Mountain National Park.

A NATURE LOVER’S IDYLL

A wonderful diversity of fynbos and other indigenous flora flourishes in the Estate’s gardens and irrigated common areas. Over the 30 years since it was established, it’s become a haven for abundant bird life, insects and small fauna, including porcupines, tortoises, lizards and the endangered Western Leopard Toad.

Sunbirds and sugarbirds are drawn to a profusion of proteas and pincushions, guineafowl and francolin scratch in the undergrowth, and owls and nightjars can be heard calling across the valley in the early hours. Some of the owls nest in the mature trees of Estate’s wooded ravine, which is watered by a perennial stream and two collection dams.

There are several easy walking trails through the grounds, and unrestricted access to the Pipe Track running along the base of the Vlakkenberg.

SAFE, PEACEFUL SURROUNDINGS

Built between 1992 and 2000, the Estate now comprises 115 properties. The main area of the Estate is situated just off Hout Bay’s Main Road, with three adjacent ‘satellite’ areas: Fynbos Close, Candlewood Close and Elmtree Close.

Bokkemanskloof Estate is protected by a state-of-the-art security infrastructure with sophisticated back-up systems and 24-hour armed response vehicles. With quiet, safe streets bathed in sunshine until late afternoon, and a well-equipped playground, the Estate is a sought-after location for families with kids and dogs.

CLOSE TO THE SEA, CITY AND SCHOOLS

Just a few minutes’ drive from Constantia Nek, the Estate is ideally located for easy access to the city of Cape Town and the Southern Suburbs. Take a spectacular scenic drive along the Atlantic Seaboard via Llandudno to Camps Bay and Sea Point, or get to the city in less than 30 minutes via Rhodes Drive and the M3 freeway. Regular MyCITI buses offer affordable public transport via the coast road to the city.

Hout Bay’s beach and picturesque working harbour are just five kilometres away, as are a range of amenities and services: restaurants, cafés, hotels, supermarkets, shopping centres, boutiques, gyms, pharmacies, garages, clinics and doctors’ rooms.

The valley boasts several excellent schools, including Hout Bay International School, The Bay Academy, Kronendal Primary School, Ambleside School, Hout Bay Montessori and Valley Pre-Primary.
